Visualization in Aviation: Investigation of Designs in Airline Disruption Management and Air Traffic Control
• Decision making in aviation is often a very time-critical task. This may be due to safety reasons (e.g. in air traffic control) or due to costs (e.g. in airline disruption management). Good visualizations may support the decision making process, including problem detection, prioritization, and problem resolution. Linda Pfeiffer (PhD student at Technische Universität Chemnitz, Germany) will present parts of her work. The VisRuption project investigated a visualization of airline disruption management data and her current PhD project deals with visual and interactive aids to support air traffic controllers.
