Weighted Network Centrality Measures, with Application to U.S. Domestic Airlines
• We propose natural extensions of unweighted measures of node centrality to weighted networks, which enable us to incorporate some of the spatial nature of airline networks. We provide practical recommendations, using route network data for U.S. domestic airlines. We then investigate the impact of airport centrality on carriers’ fare-setting behaviour. This work represents preliminary results from a summer research project, joint with Alexandre Dossin, and is part of a larger ongoing research programme on networks and econometrics.
The talk will be given in English.
